Name That Retro Tee

the answer to yesterday's coffee trivia is B. the 17th century king probably suspected that people met in coffeehouses to talk about his hair & read bad poetry, but king charles banned coffeehouses when he believed they met there to plot against him. fast forward to the current century: yesterday vanessa wore this shirt to homer's (pictured above) because she knows that i spent ALOT of time playing video games in the 1980's. if you can name the video game referenced on vanessa's shirt, you'll get double punches today!

Another Homer's

here's a recap of thursday's trivia: did the word coffee come from the dutch, turks, or arabs? the answer (according to wikipedia) is all of them. so, on saturday, jenny & i drove up highway 7 to atchison. we stopped along the way to eat at... homer's! you can't get mochas or lattés there, but the leavenworth homer's was serving burgers and fries WAY before the overland park and red bridge homer's were steaming drinks. if you know how long THAT homer's has been in leavenworth, you get double punches on monday!

DKM--> DMK--> SHB

the answer to yesterday's trivia question is danny mason keener. his initials, DMK, appear on a tempest high score at the beginning of night of the comet. at the end of the movie we find out that DMK is danny mason keener when introduces himself to a girl (after almost hitting her with his car). all of this started when i saw david munyan's initials DKM. today's trivia has to do with coffee initials. what does SHB stand for? hint: the initials usually refer to coffee grown at altitudes higher than about 4,500 feet above sea level. if you know the answer (or at least try to answer) you get double punches toward a free drink today!

The Alias

yesterday i asked a customer for his name after i took his order. he waited a second and said "jim." we both knew it was an alias, but i wrote it down anyway. i think that giving a fake name is a temptation that's too hard to resist sometimes. heck i submitted a different name while doing karaoke one night just so the emcee would say, "alright everyone let's hear it for OTIS!" along those lines, here's a little trivia: her name was magill and she called herself lil but everyone knew her as ___________ . if you can fill in the blank you get double punches toward a free drink today!
